Early on a Friday morning in September, the Quarter Fund crew weaved their way up flagstaff and to a campground where we would pour concrete foundations for fire places.

Armed with a wheelbarrow and quite a bit of cement, we artfully began mixing the perfect concrete. Note that too much water will weaken the concrete. After some cautious mixing, we eventually landed on our killer concrete recipe.

After wrapping up with the concrete fireplaces, we hauled brush and then made our way down to the Family Fun Center.

Well-deserved or not 😉 United Way treated all volunteers to a crazy amount of pasta jays, ice cream, snapple and everything that the Family Fun Center had to offer. As it turns out nothing quite completes a morning of volunteering like a go-kart race.
