After reviewing many deserving proposals, the board has decided to award not one, but two grants. $250 was awarded to the Mountain Flower Dairy to partially cover the cost of design plans for their proposed cheese cave. $250 was also awarded to the Longmont Friends of Feral & Abandoned Cats for the acquisition of a cat safety enclosure kit to assist with neutering procedures. The board liked these applications because the need was highly connected to their mission and a majority of board members appeared to have a penchant for animals.
The Mountain Flower Dairy enables adults and youth to learn to see themselves not only as consumers, but as land stewards essential to ecological and animal health. The Longmont Friends of Feral & Abandoned Cats is a community group that uses the humane practice of Trap-Neuter-Return to sustain healthy feral cat colonies in Longmont. Thanks to all organizations who took the time to apply. There were so many good proposals in this cycle, we had a difficult time selecting just one. We encourage you to keep an eye on our future quarterly focuses and resubmit!
