This quarter we received an amazing anonymous $500 match to our standard $500 grant. Thus, we were able to double our impact in funding sexual assault prevention!
$700 went to Project Pinwheel, a partnership among several nonprofits that advocates against child sexual assault in the Longmont community http://www.longmontpinwheel.org. Funding will go towards covering 100% of costs associated with training 70 members of a local latino church.
The remaining $300 went to the Safe Shelter and a program that leverages the influence of high school athletes, who then educate their peers on the prevention of teen dating abuse. Funding will provide ongoing training, curriculum materials, and evaluation for coaches to ensure that they have the resources they need.
Thank you to all the great organizations that submitted a video proposal this quarter! As always, it was a challenging decision to pick just two organizations so if you weren’t selected, we encourage you to be on the lookout for the next relevant focus area and submit again soon.
